MoiaGroup has experience in technical analysis, technical architecture, project planning/management, dynamic websites, web applications, flash production, print design, illustration, and testing. We also regularly work with talented writers who help make your sites not just legible, but actually enjoyable to read. Our major areas of expertise include:

• Information Architecture & Functional Analysis
  MoiaGroup can work with you to develop your site objectives, your audience profiles, and use-case scenarios leading to a full-fledged content outline that leaves you prepared for the design phase of the process. We can also help you define your functional requirements for any custom applications you need to develop so that you can save money and time in the long run by avoiding unnecessary changes during the development phase.
• Design
  As you’ll see when you look at our portfolio, we’ve done a lot of design work, from logo and identity work, custom illustration, animation, band posters, cd covers — you name it. Want to know if we can do something? Assume we can and check in with us to be sure.
• Music & Audio Design
  Monte spends more time composing and performing music than he does designing website. You can listen to a couple of his clips on in our portfolio section, or you can just go straight to one of his band sites.
• Flash & Web Design
  It goes without saying that we do web design, and web design includes a lot of flash work. Our portfolio will link you to a number of sites that show off the goods. What you might not be able to tell from these is that a lot of our flash work integrates with our content management systems, i.e., it’s dynamically rendered based on database content. What does this mean for you? It means you don’t have to call us every time you want to add a photo to a slide show. You can just do it yourself.
• Content Management Systems (CMS)
  We don’t just give you a website — we give you the tools you need to maintain your own website without our help. We use open source systems (mostly WordPress) as the backbone for your website, then create custom themes that make the site look and work just like you want it to. (There are actually a lot of reasons why using open source software is a good idea, and you can hear more about them in our “Why Open Source” post.) Add pages? Remove Pages? Upload photos and place them on your website? Create slideshows? You bet. All this and a lot more. You can read more about why we think CMSs are a good idea here.
• Custom Programming
  It’s a rare website that doesn’t need a little something extra under the hood. We specialize in creating web applications that integrate seamlessly with your CMS and make them a lot more powerful. This can range from WordPress plugins to full-fledged standalone applications. We develop mostly in PHP (integrating with CakePHP, WordPress, and custom applications), but we have extensive experience with Java/J2EE and have worked with Ruby.
